Pack 87 welcomes every boy and girl at Kingsley to join us. Kids can join at anytime and at any grade level. Feel free to contact us using the contact form or come to one of our pack meetings.
The cub scouts provide an environment for elementary aged kids to come together for fun, personal growth, and challenge themselves to be more. Cub Scouts learn to follow the scout law: "A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."
Cub Scouts are part of a pack, in this case Pack 87 for Kingsley students. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens with one den per grade. There are five dens or ranks:
Lions (Kindergarten)
Tigers (1st Grade)
Wolves (2nd Grade)
Bears (3rd Grade)
Webelos (4th & 5th Grade)
Learn about advancement here: ADVANCEMENT. When your child begins, they will start as a Bobcat, which only lasts a few weeks. During a Pack meeting they will be asked to recite the Scout Law, Motto, and Oath (with the help of you and the pack leaders). At this point they will become the rank corresponding to their current grade.
Each rank comes with a set of required activities which must be performed through the year in order to advance at the end of the year to the next rank. These activities are generally organized by the den leaders to be done together, but can also be completed as a family.
Every year our pack participates in many activities, which include our annual pine wood derby, our spring and fall campouts, and other activities. See our Activities page for more details.
Pack 87 has:
0 lion cubs (kindergarteners)
0 tiger cubs (1st graders),
6 wolf cubs (2nd graders),
11 bear cub (3rd grader),
7 Webelos (4th graders), and
6 Arrow of Light (5th graders).
New comers are always welcome to attend our pack meetings to see what we are all about. The pack meetings are held on the second Monday of the month during the school year. We meet at 6:30pm in the multi-purpose room of Kingsley.
